During your stay at Kukutana you will have a private guide to take you on excursions. Our guides are hugely knowledgeable about the history, culture and nature of southern Spain, especially Doñana National Park. As well as 4x4 tours in the park, there is a huge amount right on our doorstep at Kukutana. Our grounds spill out into ancient woodlands, we have a historic bull fighting ring on the edge of our garden and the horses stables are in a courtyard attached to the farmhouse. We have created a range of activities and experiences, but also invite our guests to slow down, to take a seat by the swimming pool and enjoy a glass of Rioja.
Horses play a huge part of our life here at Kukutana. Guests can wander into the stables and meet our four-legged friends. The tack room is beautifully fitted and we also have a carriage house. There's something for the keen horse rider and also those who prefer to enjoy the beauty of horses from a safe distance. Those who want to ride have ancient woodlands with endless paths waiting to explore; and those who prefer to ride in one of our carriages can enjoy the feeling of stepping back in time as they roll along the sandy paths. Kukutana is located in the Doñana National Park, so guests can ride from the property directly into the surrounding woodland.
The hidden secret of Southern Europe
There is something magical in the sand tracks of Doñana National Park. Kukutana, our family-owned farmhouse, is in the national park which means our guests can head out from the property straight into the ancient woodlands. There are endless pathways to be explored, be it on horseback, bicycle, carriage or on foot. The woodland surrounding Kukutana are home to a huge amount of birdlife, and also the elusive lynx. There is something deeply relaxing and restoring about travelling along these sun-dappled sand roads beneath the tall pine trees.
These mobile dunes, also known as transdunes, are formed by the prevailing winds coming in from the Atlantic Ocean, and are almost non-existent elsewhere in the Iberian Peninsula.
Each time you visit the dunes, the landscape will have changed according to the way the wind blows.

Doñana is the natural area with the greatest biodiversity in Europe due to its geographical location in southern Europe and close to the African continent. It is a very important place for many migratory birds that find here a place of wintering or breeding.

Doñana is the most biodiverse natural area in Europe, and the continent's largest sanctuary for migratory birds. The National Park is home to 200,000 aquatic birds during the winter, and more than 300 species of birds are found in the area.
