Horseback riding in Doñana
An experience for riders who want to explore Doñana from within, discover Andalusia’s equestrian tradition, and understand a way of life deeply connected to the land, the landscape, and its rhythms.
A journey on horseback through landscape, tradition and life in the countryside
Over five days, we ride through some of Doñana’s most distinctive landscapes on horseback. Our horses, a mix of English, Arabian, French Trotter and Oldenburg breeds, are well suited for long routes across sandy trails, pine forests, marshlands and open beaches.
The experience is designed for those with a true passion for horses, who want to step into Andalusia’s equestrian culture and understand the connection that still exists here between the horse and life in the countryside.
Five days to discover Doñana
Each day follows a different landscape of Doñana: pine forests, marshlands, villages shaped by equestrian tradition, and the Atlantic beaches.
Over five days, the experience combines long rides, pauses in nature, and the quiet life at Kukutana, where guests stay for four nights and gather around the table after each day in the countryside.
The stay includes accommodation at Kukutana, all meals, and guided rides each day.
Days 1 & 2. “From Kukutana to El Rocío”
The experience begins upon arrival at Kukutana, our home in the countryside, and a first encounter with the horses.
The first ride takes place in La Juncosilla, a quiet landscape of pine forests and sandy paths where horse and rider begin to connect and find a shared rhythm.
The following day, the journey continues towards El Rocío, one of the most emblematic places in Andalusia’s equestrian culture.
Arriving on horseback through its sandy streets offers an inside view of the deep connection between the horse, the land and the traditions that are still alive here.
Day 3. Living nature “Las Rocinas”
On the third day, the route passes through the landscapes of Las Rocinas, where marshlands, streams and wildlife accompany the way.
Midway through the day, we pause for a Kukutana countryside picnic — a simple, carefully prepared lunch served in nature.
A moment to rest, share, and let the landscape set the rhythm of the day.
Day 4. The horizon “Doñana’s beaches and farewell”
The fourth day takes us to the Atlantic.
The route follows the wild beaches of Doñana Natural Park, an open landscape where sea, wind and sand stretch to the horizon.
One of the most memorable moments of the journey.
Day 5. The legacy “Palacio del Rey”
The final ride passes through ancient cork oak groves on the way to the historic Palacio del Rey.
A slower ride, allowing time to say goodbye to the landscape and the horses before returning to the house.
A quiet ending to a journey lived at the horse’s pace.
KUKUTANA FAMILY
Those who accompany this experience
The rides and the stay are accompanied by the people who live and work at Kukutana, who maintain a daily connection with the horses and the land.
The team brings together equestrian knowledge, experience in the countryside, and the hospitality of a family home, creating a close and authentic experience.
Nicole trains Kukutana’s horses daily and accompanies the rides throughout the experience. Her work is grounded in trust, consistency and a deep knowledge of the land, guiding the group so that both horses and riders find a comfortable and steady rhythm.
David es el encargado de Kukutana y coordina el funcionamiento de la casa y del campo. Conoce los caminos, el territorio y el ritmo cotidiano de la finca, asegurando que cada jornada fluya con naturalidad.
At different moments during the stay, members of the family — such as Pedro or Blanca — will also be present. They are part of everyday life at Kukutana and bring something difficult to replicate elsewhere: the feeling of being in a home where horses, the countryside and hospitality are all part of the same way of life.
